Teething Babies
and The Crib
Have Teeth,
Will Chew.... One of your most important decisions that you will make
will be that of purchasing your baby's Crib. By the age of two your
baby will have logged many an hour and will have spent much of their
time in the Crib. The Crib is your baby's safe haven from the outside
world, it will quickly become your infants domain and overtime will
serve to provide your child with many moments of adventure, pleasure,
and fascination.
Bearing this in
mind, one thing that parents often overlook is the effect that
Teething can have on their baby while in the Crib. Somewhere between
the 4th and 6th month of your baby's development you will notice
that they will begin to have an insatiable knack for chewing on
things. This period of time will serve as a good marker to alert you
as to when approximately your baby's Teething is about to begin.
Generally you
will notice around the 4th- 6th month that your baby will want to
put their hand in their mouth as they seek to comfort and soothe
their gums. As your baby begins to progress in their motor skill
development they will seek to take a plethora of objects and put
them into their mouth. The Baby does this for two purposes...
1.)
The infants mouth is the baby's Quality Control center. It allows
the Baby to taste, explore, analyze, feel, and experience the world
around them.
2.)
The Teething baby will seek to apply pressure to the areas of their
gum which are causing them discomfort.
Now,
while both of these are legitimate reasons for your Baby.
This can be an un-nerving process for parents as they seek
to make sure that their Teething baby does not harm
themselves. Once the baby's motor skills have developed a
little more fully the child will begin to pull themselves up
in the crib, and it is at this point moms and dads where the
fun really begins...
Some Teething babies will
chew on the crib rail as well as bump themselves on parts of the crib. As
parents ourselves, we at Teething-Teeth.com understand that it is a natural
inclination to want to provide a safe and secure environment in which our Babies
can explore, learn, and grow. That being said, we have good news. There is a
very simple and affordable prevention step that you can take to help ensure that
your child will be able to enjoy their time of Teething while in the Crib, and
